There are some good teachers, but lord knows that the last few years have shown us how awful some teachers can really be.
Now, I get the idea of order and discipline in a classroom; but there are times that you just have to take things on a case by case basis.
I remember when I was in sixth grade there was this kid in our class that I learned later on in life had been horrifically abused by a member of his family.
This normally wouldn’t have been a problem except when it came to gym class when he would have to change into his gym clothes in front of other people.
He wouldn’t change into his gym clothes one time, and the teacher who was briefed on what had happened to this kid; made him a deal that he could change in private where he could be by himself.
There are teachers that take the right approach, and then there are teachers that do things completely and totally wrong.
For example, a young lady name Sara Rue was sitting in class when a very animated argument erupted between her teacher and another student.
Rue, in an attempt to get away from the situation due to serious anxiety issues, got up and tried to leave the class as quickly and calmly as humanly possible.
For whatever reason, the teacher then became preoccupied with her leaving the class and tried to stop her by grabbing her by the shirt and pulling as hard as possible.
This completely ripped Sara’s shirt off of her body, leaving her in just her bra.
Salem police reviewed the incident and found there was no criminal wrongdoing, but school administrators have launched an investigation.
“Why did she put her hands on the student, to begin with? That needs to be determined through investigating to see if there was a legitimate reason to have her hands on the student in the first place,” said Jay Remy, spokesman for Salem-Keizer schools.
That’s the thing that I don’t get is that the teacher thought that ripping the girl’s clothes off was the best course of action. Another reason why homeschooling your kids is the best way to go.
