It took Donald Trump all of about 15 minutes at his desk to send the mainstream media into a tizzy.

Donald Trump issued controversial pardons to more than 1,500 January 6 defendants.

“Morning Joe” watched it play out in utter disbelief, having an on-air meltdown over the pardons.

Was It the Right Thing to Do?

We all knew Donald Trump was going to pardon January 6 defendants, but nobody thought it was coming like this.

Trump has repeatedly stated that he would look at this on a case-by-case basis.

Only days before they took office, JD Vance went on national TV and stated that anyone who had committed violent offenses should remain in jail.

Today, they are all out.

Now, I think most people would agree that most of the defendants were overcharged or forced to plead to charges so they would not go broke defending themselves.

People who were standing outside or walking around inside the Capitol doing nothing other than what would technically be considered trespassing were given months in jail and fined.

Who cares if Trump pardons them? But, the people who were caught on video attacking police officers was another story entirely, but they were all pardoned.

Trump even pardoned people who had been charged with sedition, which is a very risky move considering the text of the 14th Amendment.

Can pardoning someone charged with sedition be considered lending aid and comfort to an insurrectionist? If the court and Democrats see it that way, Trump could be impeached if Dems take back the House in 2026.

As all this was happening, “Morning Joe” looked on in horror…

Over and above everything I mentioned above, we also have to consider how this will impact the 2026 and 2028 elections.

Democrats are going to run campaign ads with Trump calling himself a law and order president, and they will do the same to every Republican that supported him that is up for re-election, then they are going to show the Capitol riot, then Trump setting them all free.

I can see the tagline now… “Is he really about law and order?”

Let’s hear it guys… was Trump right or wrong to pardon the people who attacked police officers?
