The Department of Justice just dropped a bombshell ruling that will surely have repercussions for this bogus impeachment Democrats are trying to pull off.
After investigating the FISA warrants obtained by the FBI, the DOJ has determined that two of the warrants obtained “were not valid.”
FISA Court Problems
The Inspector General’s report on the FISA warrants created a treasure trove of problems for Democrats.
While they tried to latch onto the conclusion that the investigation was justified, it was offset by the IG’s own admission that the threshold is very low.
The real problem, however, was in the abuse of the FISA warrant process.
The abuses uncovered during the IG investigation were significant, with FBI agents literally changing information to allow the investigation to move forward.
When the DOJ looked at the warrant applications, it found enough issues with the final two warrants that it deemed them to be invalid.
On Thursday, FISA Court Presiding Judge James Boasberg revealed the report from the DOG as well as acknowledging “in view of the material misstatements and omissions, that the court’s authorizations… were not valid.”
Carter Page, the subject of the warrants, also issued a statement after the report came out.
He stated, “Today’s unprecedented court filing represents another step on the road to recovery for America’s deeply damaged judicial system.
“I hope that this latest admission of guilt for these civil rights abuses by the Justice Department marks continued progress towards restoring justice and remedying these reputationally ruinous injuries.”
Well, that is the $100,000 question, now isn’t it?
All of these admissions are great, but who is going to be held accountable for everything that happened?
Is the DOJ going to serve up some underling that acted in a rogue fashion or are we finally going to see some of the leaders of this coup served up to the American people?
James Comey’s signature was on these warrants, so, ultimately, the responsibility is his.
Considering the high-profile nature of this case, we would have hoped the Director of the FBI would have gone to considerable lengths to ensure all of the information on these warrants was accurate and complete, but Comey has already publicly kicked that can down the road.
We don’t want some random agent… we want Comey.
So, Mr. Barr, now that we know these abuses were rampant and Comey allowed the FBI to conduct an illegal investigation, what are you going to do about it?
