Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) stunned the Moms for America crowd with a big announcement this week.
Boebert, who is only 36 years old, announced that she is about to become a grandmom.
Her son, who is only 17 years old, and his girlfriend, are about to have a baby.

In addressing the crowd, Boebert was using the narrative that even with pregnancies at this age, rather than abort the child, the grandparents need to step up to help take care of the child.
Boebert stated, “I’m going to tell you all for the first time in a public setting, that not only am I a mom of four boys but come April, I will be a gigi to a brand new grandson.”
She added that she and her husband, Jayson, “are so excited to welcome this new life into our family.”
Well, it’s not like she has a choice… she is very much pro-life, so let’s make lemonade out of lemons here.
Boebert went on to say that “rural conservative communities” have a high teen pregnancy rate who refuse abortions compared to urban environments.
Lauren Boebert publicly announced that her 17 year old son, Tyler, will be making her “a 36 year old grandmother” in April.

So, I get what Boebert was trying to do here, but I think she would have been better off teaching her kid about using birth control.
Maybe I am being a bit of a snob here, but to me, this is a parenting failure.
I 100 percent support her decision to be there for her son and help raise this child, but nobody is ready to have a kid at 17.
Especially with her public profile, how was “the” conversation not had with these kids?
Boebert herself was a teen mom and forced to drop out of school to have, ironically, her son Tyler, how got the girl pregnant.
Instead, it was almost treated like a joke.
Boebert stated, “When I approached him and told him, ‘Tyler, I’m going to be a 36-year-old grandmother,’ he said, ‘Well, didn’t you make Granny a 36-year-old granny?”‘
The crowd laughed, but I fail to see the humor here.
