The president that claims to be the most union-friendly president in history is getting stiffed by one of the biggest unions in the country.
The United Auto Workers (UAW) union said it is holding off its endorsement for Biden.
The union is very concerned about this big push toward EVs without having protections provided by the government.
Pay Us or Lose Us
So, this amounts to blackmail.
The union is openly telling Biden that unless he provides them with certain protections, their endorsement is not coming.
UAW President Shawn Fain stated, “The federal government is pouring billions into the electric vehicle transition, with no strings attached and no commitment to workers.
“The EV transition is at serious risk of becoming a race to the bottom.
“We want to see national leadership have our back on this before we make any commitments.”
Now, don’t think that means they will endorse a Republican because that is not happening either.
The UAW added, “Another Donald Trump presidency would be a disaster.
“But our members need to see an alternative that delivers real results. We need to get our members organized behind a pro-worker, pro-climate, and pro-democracy political program that can deliver for the working class.”
So, either Joe caves, or the union and its money sits on the sidelines.
I think we all know what happens here, right?
I would not be surprised if Joe’s minions were not working on a plan to calm the fears of the UAW right now.
