President Donald Trump has a great idea to celebrate America and blow liberal minds at the same time. We’re rapidly approaching the milestone of 250 years since our great nation declared it’s independence from Britain. 2026 is a perfect opportunity to re-declare our independence. This time, from Brussels and the New World Order.
Celebrate 250 years of America
Those of us lucky enough to celebrate the Bicentennial in 1976 can’t wait to do it again for 2026. This time, better and, as Arlo Guthrie would say, “with feelin!” In the wake of this year’s Memorial Day Holiday, President Donald Trump proposed “a yearlong bash to commemorate 250 years of independence.” Right on! conservatives cheer.
It’s his “latest idea to enshrine American greatness.” Why not “throw the country ‘the most spectacular‘ birthday bash — one that will last all year.”
This time we get to celebrate the semiquincentennial. There can be contests on who can figure out how to say it. The important part for America is that it’s a full “quarter millennial since its declaration of independence.”

Trump suggests spending the entire year with a “Salute to America 250.” He envisions a sort of “Great American State Fair.” His idea sounds like a whole lot of fun.
We could spend the whole year going from one patriotic party to another with each individual town showing their own way to celebrate. The national version would feature “pavilions from all 50 states, nationwide high school sporting contests,” and other assorted festivities.
It would also be a great time to roll out Trump’s proposed “National Garden of American Heroes” with “statues of important figures in American history like Frederick Douglass and Amelia Earhart.”
Lady Liberty’s big bash
“As a nation,” Trump declared in a new policy video, “we should be preparing for the most spectacular birthday party. We want to make it the best of all time.” It will be “yuuuge” he promises. Even left-leaning Politico grudgingly admits that “a birthday celebration for the nation is the type of event that can be described as quintessentially Trump: heavy on patriotic themes and state planning.”
Not so much “state planning” as “state’s rights” to choose their own way to celebrate. Think of it as “a modern world’s fair — showcasing each state.” He made Charles Grassley grin by suggesting “the event could be held at the Iowa state fairgrounds.”
The outlet also notes that the idea for a big nationalist celebration “has been on his radar for a while.” He promised it during his first “State of the Union” speech. In 2017 he pointed out that “in nine years, the United States will celebrate the 250th anniversary of our founding — 250 years since the day we declared our independence.” He also “created a 1776 Commission” to “better enable a rising generation to understand the history and principles of the founding of the United States in 1776.”

Trump vows to “work with all 50 governors, Republican and Democrat alike, to create the Great American State Fair, a unique one-year exhibition featuring pavilions from all 50 states. It’ll be something. The Great American State Fair will showcase the glory of every state in the Union, promote pride in our history, and put forth innovative visions for America’s future.”
The time to start planning is now. He’s already started and he can start moving mountains the moment he gets back into the oval office. He’s determined to celebrate 2026 as our rightful leader once again. He’ll have the paperwork ready for “the creation of a task force on Day One of his [renewed] presidency.”
He promises to work with state and local governments “to ensure not just one day of celebration, but an entire year of festivities across the nation starting on Memorial Day 2025 and continuing through July 4th, 2026.“
