The state of Maine prefers to discriminate against real women. They think it’s better than admitting it’s unfair to allow men disguised as women to compete against them in sports. Attorney General Pam Bondi isn’t going to put up with it.
Federal suit against Maine
Attorney General Pam Bondi announced on Wednesday, April 16, that she’s “suing Maine over the state’s transgender athlete policy.” It clearly “violates federal anti-discrimination protections.”
Men have all sorts of biological advantages over women in sports, no matter how they manipulate their hormones and how much surgery they have.
“The state of Maine is discriminating against women by failing to protect women in women’s sports.” You don’t need to be one of Elon Musk’s rocket scientists to figure it out. It’s “pretty basic stuff,” Bondi insists.
She held a press conference to break the news. No matter what progressives have to say, this is “an issue of sports as well as safety,” she explains.
Specifically, the DOJ “is launching a civil suit against the Maine Department of Education.” The state’s in violation of Title IX. The federal law “prohibits discrimination in schools on the basis of sex.”
Democrats are quick to counter that “Title IX does not reference trans people directly.” It doesn’t need to, the administration replies.
Governor not surprised
Democrat Governor Janet Mills was quick to rush out a statement expressing the liberal version of biological science.
This, she assures anxious voters, is just the “latest, expected salvo in an unprecedented campaign to pressure the State of Maine to ignore the Constitution and abandon the rule of law.”
“This matter has never been about school sports or the protection of women and girls, as has been claimed,” Mills believes.
The governor of Maine is totally convinced the real issue is “states’ rights and defending the rule of law against a federal government bent on imposing its will, instead of upholding the law.”
AG Bondi isn’t phased. She “read off two examples of trans girls placing in girls athletic competitions, skiing and track.”
She also went into specific detail on an initial exchange between Trump and the Maine governor when she quipped she’d see Trump “in court.” You bet she will.
