Judge Engoron is quickly becoming Public Enemy #1 for the MAGA crowd.
He has been the source of much frustration for Donald Trump.
That frustration level went up even higher after Engoron denied an immediate verdict request from Trump’s legal team.
Dismissal
Micheal Cohen was finally called to testify, and it was far from the smoking gun that it was made out to be.
Cohen actually admitted that Trump never “ordered” him to cook the books.
Instead, Cohen portrayed Trump as someone who insinuated orders, so Cohen said he did what he thought Donald Trump wanted him to do.
Trump’s attorney asked Cohen directly, “Trump didn’t ask you to inflate the numbers on his personal statement, correct?”
Cohen replied, “Correct.”
Trump’s team then approached Engoron, asking for the case to be dismissed on the basis of Cohen admitting that Trump had not asked for the numbers to be inflated.
Engoron responded, “Absolutely denied. One witness, who I don’t consider to be the key witness… it’s absurd.
“No way, no how is this case is being dismissed. There is enough evidence in this case to fill this courtroom.”
Engoron’s mind is already made up, clearly, so Trump needs to come to grips with the fact the only chance he has of winning this case is on appeal.
