You know you’re in real deep trouble when members of your own party realize that things are continuing towards a downward spiral. A new poll from The New York Times and Siena College has revealed that former President Donald Trump is leading big in five out of six swing states.
This has put U.S. Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) — who currently chairs the House Progressive Caucus — on alert, warning that President Biden and the Democratic Party as a whole are in “deep trouble” ahead of the 2024 election.
In Pennsylvania, Trump has gained a lead over President Biden with four percentage points according to the new poll from The New York Times and Siena College. In Michigan and Arizona, his lead extends to five points, while Georgia has given him an even bigger edge of six percentage points over Biden.
But this isn’t where it ends; Nevada is also weighing heavily in favor of Trump who currently leads by ten percentage points—the state hasn’t been won by a Republican presidential candidate since 2004.
Former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki asked Rep. Jayapal about her views on Israel during an appearance on her MSNBC program Sunday, November 5, when she was confronted with colleague Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s accusation that President Biden is complicit in “genocide” due to U.S support for Israel.
“We will remember in 2024,” Tlaib said in a video statement prior to Psaki pressing Jayapal for clarity regarding her agreement or disagreement with Tlaib’s description—to which Jayapal responded “I am not willing to say that yet.”
She did however agree that credible reports have been released from agencies across the world and even noted that the United Nations had declared they were hurtling towards genocide of Palestinians—which wasn’t an isolated view held by only one individual but many more around the world.
