Donald Trump blew up the internet this week with a huge announcement, and it was not a good one.
There have been rumors that Trump’s legal team has been burning the midnight oil to keep him out of jail.
It would appear that their efforts have failed.
Targeted
Trump sent out a long post that he had received notice from Special Counsel Jack Smith that he is the target of an investigation by a grand jury.
He went on to say that he was given four days to report to the grand jury, which he went on to say generally means indictment and arrest.

If Trump is charged, it would likely be for obstruction.
The charges would be related to Trump’s actions leading up to the certification of the election and possibly even link him to the false electors Trump operatives tried to get into the hands of Mike Pence.
There are also the conversations that were had with Pence and the public statements regarding Pence’s role in the certification.
This could go much deeper, however, linking Trump to the start of the riot and possibly try to hold him accountable for the deaths that occurred that day as well as the subsequent deaths of Capitol Police Officers.
There are two cases that I believe that Trump really needs to be concerned about, and this is one of them.
