It did not take long for Elon Musk to get Democrats in a tizzy.
Musk has been blowing up social media about “fraudulent” handouts from the Treasury Department.
Now Dems are freaking out because Musk has apparently been given access to payment systems for the Treasury Department.
Getting Nervous
When Trump created DOGE, he gave the agency the authority to have access and review all systems and records.
The order stated, “Agency Heads shall take all necessary steps, in coordination with the USDS Administrator and to the maximum extent consistent with law, to ensure USDS has full and prompt access to all unclassified agency records, software systems, and IT systems. USDS shall adhere to rigorous data protection standards.”
It did not take Musk long to find problems, posting to X, “The @DOGE team discovered, among other things, that payment approval officers at Treasury were instructed always to approve payments, even to known fraudulent or terrorist groups. They literally never denied a payment in their entire career. Not even once.”
Democrats are now panicking because Musk has seen the data, with Senate Finance Committee ranking member, Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR), stating, “Sources tell my office that Treasury Secretary Bessent has granted DOGE *full* access to this system.
“Social Security and Medicare benefits, grants, payments to government contractors, including those competing directly with Musk’s companies. All of it.”
This is what Musk was brought in for. As I had stated in previous posts, there is spending he can cut, but few agencies will be able to be dissolved without an act of Congress.
So, for now, Musk is concentrating on obvious wasteful spending, stating, “So really we need to reduce our government spending, and we need to re-examine… I think we need a government efficiency commission to say like, ‘Hey, where are we spending money that’s sensible. Where is it not sensible?’”
Musk had a goal of $2 trillion, but due to some spending needing to be cut through Congress, I doubt he will even get to $1 trillion. Even so, just exposing all the wasteful spending is worth the price tag.
The American people really need to see just how much money the government wastes on utterly ridiculous programs, every year.
