Is there a problem brewing between Donald Trump and Elon Musk?

I don’t know that we are quite there yet, but the White House is clearly upset at some statements made by Musk about possible cuts.

Musk has been spouting off on social media about cuts that will happen, but that has apparently resulted in the White House putting him in check.

Answering to Someone

Elon Musk is not someone that is used to answering to anyone, but as far as DOGE is concerned, he does have a boss, two of them, actually.

Musk has to report not only to Donald Trump, but also to his Chief of Staff, Susie Wiles.

After some statements were made by Musk, reports are surfacing that he was told to dial it back a bit.

Trump publicly slapped him in the face, “He has access only to letting people go that he thinks are no good, if we agree with him. And it’s only if we agree with him.

“Elon can’t do and won’t do anything without our approval, and we will give him the approval where appropriate. Where it’s not appropriate, we won’t.”

A Trump aide also confirmed that Musk was told about putting his power in check.

The aide stating, “I’m not sure it was his preferred direction, and it did not seem like he was expecting it.

“But it has been reiterated to him in ways that, yes, he reports to the chief of staff.”

Musk has dealt with this power struggle fairly well, so I don’t think the problem will come from him.

Eventually, I think Trump will get tired of people referring to Musk as President Musk, or Trump will tire of Musk spouting off on social media.

All Trump appointees were reportedly warned about posting on social media without the posts being approved, so this could get interesting of Musk keeps talking about cuts that are going to happen before Trump has the final say.

I stand by my prediction that this lovefest between Musk and Trump will blow up sooner rather than later.
