Donald Trump has just caught yet another break in the RICO case in Georgia brought by Fulton County DA Fani Willis.

Judge McAfee has tossed two more counts in the case.

While Trump’s legal team took a victory lap, the charges were actually dropped because McAfee ruled that the state court did not have jurisdiction, with the charges in federal jurisdiction.

Can’t Try Them Here

The two charges that were dropped were regarding conspiracy and the filing of false documents.

This now makes five charges that McAfee has dropped in this case.

If you recall, right after the indictment had been filed, McAfee ruled that Willis did not provide enough context for three of the charges, so they were removed.

With these two charges added to that stack, Trump is now down to eight counts in this case (from the original 13 charges).

Trump’s legal team celebrated, stating, “President Trump and his legal team in Georgia have prevailed once again.”

Of all the judges Trump has faced, Judge McAfee has been the fairest and most level-headed in these trials.

He has not really shown bias in either direction and he has given Trump’s attorneys a fair shake when they have filed their motions.

As far as the case itself is concerned, it is still in a holding pattern until after the appeal to have Willis removed will be heard.

So, Trump has managed to have this case delayed until after the election, and at this point, it would be surprising to see this case see the inside of a courtroom.

If Fani Willis winds up being removed from the case, I would imagine the charged will wind up being dropped.

Willis’ only hope of getting Trump into a courtroom anytime soon would be for him to lose the election and Willis somehow win that appeal.
