Yet another raid has taken place by federal authorities for a member of New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ staff.
This time, it is NYPD Interim Commissioner Thomas Donlon.
Donlon has only been on the job for a few days, having replaced Edward Caban, who just resigned from his position.
Corruption Runs Deep
Donlon had no problem telling the media about the raid, insisting that this has nothing to do with Adams’ administration.
According to Donlon, authorities were looking for materials that “came into my possession 20 years ago and are unrelated to my work with the New York City Police Department.”
City Hall spokesperson Fabian Levy addressed yet another raid against an Adams official.
He stated, “As we have repeatedly said, we expect all team members to fully comply with any law enforcement inquiry.”
So far, Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Phil Banks, former NYPD official Tim Pearson, Schools Chancellor David Banks, their brother Terence Banks, and First Deputy Mayor Sheena Wright have all been involved in this massive investigation.
Another member of the administration, Molly Schaefer, the head of Asylum Seeker Services in New York, was subpoenaed on Friday.
Adams continues to insist that this investigation has nothing to do with his administration, and he has been cooperating fully with authorities.
One thing I have noticed is that former Mayor de Blasio has been very quiet while all this is taking place, so I am starting to wonder if he is somehow involved in this.
I have to think the investigation is winding down at this point and we will hopefully have some information from authorities about the actual target and crimes allegedly committed.
