Democrat Senator Dianne Feinstein swears up and down that she isn’t losing her mind but not many people believe her. She’s been forced to defend her job as California’s “senior” Senator but her senior moments aren’t helping.
Feinstein acting her age
Aging is an inescapable fact of life and it’s catching up to radical Democrat Dianne Feinstein. News broke on Thursday, April 14, that “lawmakers she serves with are concerned about her memory and ability to serve in the Senate.” She’s as sharp as Joe Biden, she counters.
“I remain committed to do what I said I would when I was re-elected in 2018: fight for Californians, especially on the economy and the key issues for California of water and fire.” She may be committed to it but that doesn’t mean she can actually get the job done.
Feinstein tried to divert attention away from herself but it only makes things worse by underscoring all the distractions she’s faced with.
“While I have focused for much of the past year on my husband’s health and ultimate passing, I have remained committed to achieving results.” That’s where Biden comes in. “I’d put my record up against anyone’s,” she challenges.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, “four unnamed senators, including three Democrats, as well as three former Feinstein aides and a California Democratic member of Congress” all told them the same story.
“Her mental health has gotten worse recently.” The accused is shocked by the claims.
Puzzled by it all
Senator Feinstein fiercely defended her abilities to the Chronicle, by sidestepping the issue. “The real question is whether I’m still an effective representative for 40 million Californians, and the record shows that I am.”
The Senator’s husband recently passed away following “a long battle with cancer.” She saw the story in print and freaked out enough to call the newspaper.
“I meet regularly with leaders,” Feinstein screamed through the phone on Thursday to the speaker phone which editorial board leaders were using.
“I’m not isolated. I see people. My attendance is good. I put in the hours. We represent a huge state. And so I’m rather puzzled by all of this.”
As with His Imperial Wisdom Joe Biden, questions about her mental capacity have been swirling for years. Back in 2021, Feinstein “faced growing questions about her ability to do her job.”
During the confirmation hearings for Amy Coney Barrett’s Supreme Court nomination, “colleagues privately complained about her performance.” That story cost her the gig she had as the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee.
