A recent segment of Fox News’ “The Five” quickly devolved into a heated debate over former President Donald Trump, with the panelists becoming increasingly divided in their opinions.
The issue at hand was the classified documents case that had been brought against Trump by Special Counsel Jack Smith, appointed by President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice.
Republican and Democratic points of view were expressed throughout the discussion.
It all began when co-host Jessica Tarlov cited Hillary Clinton’s comment that the Republican Party has become a “cult.”
She argued that although it was not an accurate label for the party as a whole, there was no denying that Trump held an almost mystical level of power and control over certain segments of his base.
She also noted that they were seemingly immune to absorbing any negative information about him, even if it could be potentially criminal in nature – which is why she insisted they should stop using the Presidential Records Act to defend him on this particular issue.
This statement provoked Jesse Watters to retort that he would use said act whenever he pleased.
But Tarlov pointed out his inaccuracy once again, leading Watters to laugh and declare that he had printed out said act so as to “smack [her] with the act in a second.”
He then accused her side of not wanting to take in any new information – which only served to further fuel Tarlov’s argument and provoke her response regarding Chinese nationals intruding upon classified documents belonging to Trump, who had been caught waving one such document around on camera.
