The House Speaker race has been filled with all kinds of crazy behavior.
This one takes the cake, or should I say burger?
Rep. Kevin Hern (R-OK), a former owner of 18 McDonald’s franchises, tried to bribe members with two cheeseburgers in his quest to become the next House Speaker.
Didn’t Work
Hern sent a letter to his colleagues making his case to become Speaker.
He wrote, “My 35 years of experience as a business leader makes me uniquely qualified to lead a diverse Republican Conference and ensure we break the pattern of legislating in a perpetual state of crisis.
“Our Conference is at a crossroads.
“We can choose business as usual, or we can choose a speaker who didn’t come to Washington to be something, but to do something.”
The letter was attached to a bag, and inside that bag were two cheeseburgers.
It was a creative stunt, but it did not work.
The party chose someone else, and now we just have to wait to see how MAGA reacts to that nomination to see if it even has a chance of moving forward.
Hopefully, they picked someone everyone can support and we can get back to business.
