As you probably already know by now, 18 GOP Senators sold us out.
Senator McConnell (R-KY) tried to tell us all that the massive spending bill was a win for conservatives.
It was a lie, as Democrats are getting about $700 billion to fund their pet projects.
So, the resistance in the House is putting them all on notice.
Dead on Arrival
We are now in tit-for-tat politics within our own party.
The Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) led effort stated, “We reiterate that if any omnibus passes in the remaining days of this Congress, we will oppose and whip opposition to any legislative priority of those senators who vote for this bill – including the Republican leader.”
The letter continued, “Kill this terrible bill or there is no point in pretending we are a united party, and we must prepare for a new political reality.”
Roy added, “It’s the only tool I have to pressure them to stop doing this to us.
“The House GOP majority, if allowed, could set a new tone in which we rebuild our military, project strength, and help our allies – but not at the expense of fiscal strength.”
Rep. McCarthy (R-CA), who is vying to be the next speaker, added, “When I’m Speaker, their bills will be dead on arrival in the House if this nearly $2 [trillion] monstrosity is allowed to move forward over our objections and the will of the American people.”
Now, I am just has unhappy about this legislation going through as anyone, but I do not think this is the way to go about it.
Is McCarthy seriously telling us that if Tom Cotton proposed legislation to block amnesty for DACA and it got through the Senate that he would kill it in the House?
It is just a foolish statement to make when he knows if the right legislation comes across his desk, he will pass it.
