One of the weirdest resignations I have ever seen just took place.
The defensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears has resigned.
It was not so much his resignation as it was the events leading up to it.
He’s Done
Alan Williams had been noticeably absent from the Bears facility.
Then the rumors started to fly.
We were first told that his absence had something to do with his health.
Yet, reports started to surface that his home had been raided by the FBI.
That rumor was then confirmed by Pat McAfee during his show…
Yesterday was a bad day for the Chicago Bears..

However, there were also rumors that the FBI had raided the Bears facility, but that was debunked by another local reporter.
Chicago sports talk host Jon Zaghoul stated, “There is absolutely no criminal activity.
“There are no criminal allegations.
“There has been no raid on Halas Hall. None of that is true.”
Williams then released a statement:
“I am taking a step back to take care of my health and family. I appreciate the opportunity to work with the Chicago Bears, a storied NFL franchise with a rich history.
“The McCaskey family is first-class and second to none.
“I would also like to thank Coach Matt Eberflus and General Manager Ryan Poles for giving me the opportunity to come to Chicago.
“I would also like to thank President Kevin Warren, the coaches, and players of which I value the relationships and camaraderie.
“I value the NFL shield and all that it stands for and after taking some time to address my health, I plan to come back and coach again.”
I am still confused by the whole thing, but I would imagine this will get cleared up over the next day or so as more details start to slip out.
