Democrats are hoping the midterm election cycle will turn the tables on Republicans. At the same time, they’re cutting their own throats to make a majority harder to accomplish. The whole controversy proves that none of them know what they’re doing.
Democrats divided
Democrats are dividing themselves into a chaos of warring factions. Since President Donald Trump took charge and actually started managing government the left has been powerless to stop him.
The only strategy they can come up with is a plot to “flip control of the lower chamber in next year’s midterm elections.”
There’s at least one little problem with that. Red district progressives in deep blue states think the chance is better of scoring a promotion than keeping their current job.
As The Hill reports, “a number of vulnerable House Democrats are eyeing runs for the Senate or other offices in a handful of states around the country, including Michigan and Maine.”
Those lawmakers don’t seem to realize that means vacating “tough House seats.” Even though they’re not real popular with centrists and moderates they’re card carrying Democrats and they’re the incumbent.
That’s a big home field advantage. An unknown probably wouldn’t do nearly as well.

Recruit new candidates
One thing Democrats are reliable about is looking out for themselves first. Rather than risk voters already happy with them at the district level, their service in the House could easily earn them enough state support for a Senate seat.
Not only that, the rake-offs are better for senators. If there’s no Senate openings governor is almost as good.
That’s why DNC campaign operatives are on a scramble to recruit new candidates. They’re going to need a lot more money selling the newcomers to the public.

The trend, experts note, “could complicate the Democrats’ path to winning back control of the House in the 2026 midterms.” While Democrats still fantasize about seizing the gavel back, they’ll be lucky if they hold what they have now.
Republicans laugh when they hear about “House Democrats’ overperformance last cycle.” Kamala Harris overperformed enough to get Donald Trump elected in a clear popular majority.
Other House Democrats did so well that Republicans have a three seat advantage. As Republicans also hold the Senate, it’s not good that liberals are talking about kicking Chuck Schumer to the curb.
