Need some extra security for your home?
Well, if you are a member of Congress, all you need do is incite violence and you get it paid for by John Q. Taxpayer.
I really wish I was kidding.
We Got It
The joke that is the January 6 Select Committee has been stirring the pot.
The committee continues to get second-hand information and portray it as fact.
Some extremists have decided to pick up their phones or write a letter threatening members of Congress.
Even though threats against Supreme Court Justices were far more severe, House Speaker Pelosi (D-CA) resisted providing extra security to keep the justices and family members safe.
That will not be the case with members of the House.
The Sergeant at Arms has offered them all $10,000 for added home security.
House Sergeant at Arms Walker wrote, “The Sergeant at Arms (SAA) will assume the cost of and oversee certain future residential security upgrades, maintenance, and monthly monitoring fees.
“This program will strengthen the security of Members of the House of Representatives and their families.”
Mr. Walker is taking some credit that does not belong to him, as the American taxpayer will assume the cost here.
Rep,. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) chose to add some levity to the situation after the free money was announced for House members.
She responded, “It’s being reported that the House Sergeant at Arms is creating a new residential security program where Members of Congress will receive $10k to secure their residences.
“So, can I buy more AR-15s to secure my residence with this?”
Somehow, I don’t think Pelosi will find that as amusing as I did.
