What is the biggest challenge we have on the gasoline front that actually outweighs drilling?
That would be refining the oil.
It would not be such as problem if the EPA would lift some restrictions, even temporarily on the St. Croix refinery, owned by West Indies Petroleum Limited and Port Hamilton Refining and Transportation, LLLC.
That, however, is not going to happen.
Nope!
At one point, this refinery could crank out 600,000 barrels a day, making it one of the largest refineries in the world.
It has been stagnant since June 2021 for EPA regulations.
Currently, we have less than a month of diesel fuel in supply.
When diesel stops running, transportation stops running.
Even so, EPA Administration Michael Regan said, “I am committed to prioritizing the health and safety of underserved and overburdened communities across this country and holding polluters accountable.
“This will ensure protections for St. Croix by requiring the refinery to operate in compliance with environmental laws designed to protect people’s health and the environment.”
While he gets on his high horse, our country is about to come to a grinding halt.
