This is all about perception because eventually, this effort will die in the Senate if they decide to try Joe Biden.
Well, Comer and company got off to a rough start on Day One.
Uh Oh
Constitutional expert Jonathan Turley was one of the opening-day witnesses.
During his opening statement, he said, “I want to emphasize what it is that we’re here today for: this is the question of an impeachment inquiry.
“It is not a vote on articles of impeachment. In fact, I do not believe that the current evidence would support articles of impeachment.”
I stopped his quote right there because that is where the media and Democrats stopped.
Now, they are running rampant telling everyone that the GOP witness said that there was no evidence to impeach Joe Biden.
Forget the fact that Turley also stated that the purpose of the inquiry is to decide if they have enough evidence to impeach Biden.
Forget the fact that Turley said the GOP had reached the point where an inquiry was warranted.
I have not seen a single interview that Raskin did where a member of the media pushed back on his comments with the full context of what Turley had stated.
The White House wanted the media to dictate the narrative, and they have done just that.
Remember guys, we are not trying to convince Trump supporters that Biden is guilty.
We are trying to convince moderates on both sides of the aisle as well as independent voters that he is guilty.
Sound bites like that are not helping our case.
