Well, it looks like the Washington Post is actually taking a shot at being a real news agency again.
The outlet recently reported on Kamala Harris’ new economic plan, and the review was less than glowing.
As a matter of fact, WaPo called her plan “populist gimmicks.”
Just Another Gimmick
When Harris announced her plan, most of the leftwing media in this country gushed over it, but WaPo saw it for what it really was, a gimmick.
A big part of Harris’ economic plan is based on the government setting pricing for businesses that she believes are gouging consumers.
While I don’t disagree that some companies are beyond greedy, it is up to consumers to stand up to them by not buying the products.
And we are not talking about stores jacking up the price of water and paper products during a crisis, but actually setting the market for businesses on how they can price their goods.
Not only is Harris’ plan a gimmick, she offers no way to pay for it, so the plan as is would add about $1.7 trillion to the deficit.
The WaPo editorial board wrote, “Ms. Harris says she’ll target companies that make ‘excessive’ profits, whatever that means.
“Thankfully, this gambit by Ms. Harris has been met with almost instant skepticism, with many critics citing President Richard M. Nixon’s failed price controls from the 1970s.
“Whether the Harris proposal wins over voters remains to be seen, but if sound economic analysis still matters, it won’t.”
Harris has nothing but regurgitation of what Biden has been doing for the last three-plus years, and we have all seen how well that has worked out.
The media and Biden continue to say Bidenomics is better than Trump’s economy, but that is a twisting of the facts at best because of the pandemic.
We can only hope that Americans actually dig for the truth to realize Harris is using nothing but smoke and mirrors to try to win this election.
