Mike Pence: We’ll Have Our Day in Congress During Jan 6th Electoral Challenge

Mike Pence Trump election voter fraud

Vice President Mike Pence on Monday vocalized his support for some Republicans efforts to keep President Donald Trump in the White House by overturning the Electoral College results. But Pence stopped short of saying he would do anything other than allow objections to the certified results to be heard. Is Pence willing to fight for Trump?

Patriots call on Mike Pence to take action

“I promise you, come this Wednesday, we’ll have our day in Congress. We’ll hear the objections. We’ll hear the evidence,” Pence said at a rally in Milner, Georgia, for the two Senate races being decided on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Pence – in his constitutional role as president of the Senate – will preside over Congress’ acceptance of the Electoral College results, which have been certified by states.

Some House and Senate Republicans plan to object to the electoral votes from some states that Biden won. A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit aimed at giving Pence authority to decide which states’ Electoral College votes to count.

Pence did not support the suit. But his chief of staff, Marc Short, said in a statement Saturday that Pence “welcomes the efforts” of lawmakers to “use the authority they have under the law to raise objections and bring forward evidence.”

To succeed, the objections must be supported by a majority of both the House and the Senate, which is not likely. The rally was the first time that Pence himself publicly addressed Wednesday’s proceedings.

Massive Stop The Steal rally underway in Washington DC

Like his past comments, the Vice President has described his actions as making sure all “legal votes” are counted. Pence is trying to keep Georgia Republicans from sitting out Tuesday’s runoff elections because of the president’s assertion that the state’s electoral college votes were stolen from him.

When Pence told rally goers that “we need you to vote,” someone in the crowd yelled: “We need you do the right thing January 6!” When Pence started to sound nostalgic, saying it has been the greatest honor of his life to be vice president, the crowd chanted: “Stop the steal!”

The devout Christian closed the rally at Rock Springs Church talking about the night when, as a young man, he became a born-again Christian, part of his closing message was that God always has a plan.

“I was reminded recently, that even when it doesn’t seem that way, that God is always working.”
