Democrats are always pretty bold when it comes to campaign rules, and we all know the media is in the tank for Democrats.

So, when Kamala Harris made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live (SNL) this week, it wasn’t really a surprise, but it may have been illegal.

This close to the election, her appearance would have required NBC to have an equal-time filing, and the FCC commissioner is not happy about the Dem’s shenanigans.

That’s Illegal

Federal Communications Commission Commissioner Brendan Carr is not too happy about the flagrant violation.

Executive producer Lorne Michaels knows that having Harris on the show is a violation, so who allowed this to happen?

Several months ago, Michaels did an interview on this exact subject, where he stated, “You can’t bring the actual people who are running on because of election laws and the equal time provisions.

“You can’t have the main candidates without having all the candidates, and there are lots of minor candidates that are only on the ballot in, like, three states, and that becomes really complicated.”

SNL had a skit written for Harris, and Harris made some arrangements earlier that showed this was clearly set up well ahead of time. They just avoided talking about it or promoting it to avoid the equal time that is required for all other candidates.

Carr addressed this, stating, “This has all the appearances of, at least some leadership at NBC, at SNL, making clear that they wanted to weigh-in in favor of one candidate before the election.

“That’s exactly why, for decades, we’ve had an equal time rule on the book, is to prevent that. Because remember, broadcasters are placed in a special position of trust.

“They’re not just like any other person with a soapbox on the corner. They have a license from the federal government that obligates them to operate in the public interest.”

NBC filed a notice on Monday, stating, “Kamala Harris, the Democratic candidate for president in the 2024 national election, appeared without charge on NBC’s ‘Saturday Night Live’ (SNL) for a total period of 1 minute and 30 seconds on November 2, 2024.”

There is no way the candidates would be able to take advantage of that just one day before the election, so Carr was absolutely right in his assessment.

This was NBC blatantly trying to tilt the scales in Harris’ favor, and I doubt anyone reading this is shocked by it.
