My friends, we are finally rid of Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot.
As predicted, Lightfoot failed to make the runoff election.
She finished a distant third, and now has to sit in office as a lame duck until after the April runoff decides the new mayor of Chicago.
Not My Fault
In typical fashion, Lightfoot played the race and gender card on the way out the door.
She blamed racism and sexism as the reason for her defeat, not her disastrous policies.
If that were truly the case, then how did she get elected in the first place?
I would argue the opposite, that she won her initial election because of woke voters that wanted a mayor who checked all the boxes rather than being qualified to run the office.
That little experiment lasted four years, with the city of Chicago paying a dear price in the process.
Jonathan Turley, a criminal defense attorney and Fox News contributor, was ecstatic, stating, “There is hope for my home city yet. Lori Lightfoot is out.
“The greatest potential improvement for the city since 1900 when the direction of the Chicago river was reversed.”
Her political career should be over, unless Joe Biden decides to give her a lifeline, which would not surprise me in the least.
