There’s been a surprising update to the story of the school staffer pummeled nearly to death by an “Exceptional Needs” student in Palm Coast, Florida. She’s recovered enough to start talking. Contrary to all the media reports, paraprofessional Joan Naydich didn’t snatch the Nintendo Switch away from her attacker. That blows a huge hole in the progressive defense narrative previously reported.
Staffer denies taking device
The nation has recently been gripped by the story of a school staffer in Florida who was “brutally attacked by a 270-pound student.” When she came to and started seeing the coverage, teacher’s aide paraprofessional Joan Naydich was shocked to learn the reports have the story all wrong and they’re using the lies against her.
Everyone has been reporting, based on statements to police made by 17-year-old Brendan Depa, that the classroom beatdown was sparked “when she confiscated his Nintendo Switch.” That’s not what happened but nobody is saying what did trigger his episode of rage.
The Matanzas High School staffer clarified the confusion on Monday, February 27, “as she continues to recover from being slammed to the floor and stomped on 15 times.”

Naydich told local reporters, “I just want to set the record straight. I never took the Nintendo Switch from him. From anyone that’s read or heard differently, I’ve been told this was unfortunately misinformation.”
By now, everyone in America has seen the brutal video of a “hulking 6-foot-6 teenager exacting his revenge on the mother of two in the school hallway.” The staffer was caught totally off guard.
“Depa can be seen sprinting toward Naydich and shoving her to the ground, knocking her unconscious immediately.” She knew better than to take away his “comfort” device and “claims she never confiscated Brendan Depa’s Nintendo Switch before he assaulted her.”
Bystanders stunned
The video clearly shows stunned bystanders unsure how to react as Depa is seen continuously beating “Naydich’s limp body” until four adults finally step in to pull him off the unconscious staffer.
She was rushed to the local hospital and has since improved enough to be released. She’s nowhere close to recovered and tells the public she’s “overwhelmed with the idea of the long fight ahead.”
Instead of being consumed by bitterness and anger, Ms. Naydich wants this to be a learning lesson for any staff members in contact with similar students.

“I’m hopeful that the awareness of this incident being spread far and wide will prevent anyone else from ever dealing with the trauma, physical healing and disruption of everyday life that this has caused.” So far, her GoFundMe has collected more than $66,000.
Depa’s name has been released because he’s going to be charged as an adult for the horrifically violent crime. It’s a good thing he’s safely behind bars because he’s already told police he’s “going to kill her” the minute he gets back out of custody.
He’s been charged with aggravated battery on a school board employee. That happens to be good for up to 30 years behind bars. This isn’t his first brush with the law. “The troubled teen has a violent past and was arrested three times for simple battery in 2019.“
