There are more than a few people who believe that the marriage between Donald Trump and Melania is over.
She has not campaigned for him and she has not gone to any of his trials.
That theory has blown up over the last few days after a passage from Melania’s memoir was leaked before it hit the shelves.
Stirring Things Up
Democrats always make abortion top of mind during an election season, and this one is no different.
This time around, however, a major figure on the right is also pushing the “My Body, My Choice” slogan of the pro-abortion movement.
That person, unfortunately, is Melania Trump.
Melania discusses abortion rights in her new book, where she wrote, “Restricting a woman’s right to choose whether to terminate an unwanted pregnancy is the same as denying her control over her own body. I have carried this belief with me throughout my entire adult life.
“Why should anyone other than the woman herself have the power to determine what she does with her own body?
“I have always believed it is critical for people to take care of themselves first.
“The slogan ‘My Body, My Choice’ is typically associated with women activists and those who align with the pro-choice side of the debate.
“But if you really think about it, ‘My Body, My Choice’ applies to both sides — a woman’s right to make an independent decision involving her own body, including the right to choose life. Personal freedom.”
The fallout for Donald Trump from this is likely to be significant.
The right depends on pro-life group backing, and I am sure they are not going to like what Melania said at all.
This will also give pundits on the left something else over which to attack Trump, so this is not going to go away anytime soon.
