Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) made one final move before leaving the gavel on the table.
In what I believe was her final act as Speaker, Pelosi approved a rather significant raise for House staffers.
The maximum salary they can now have has been bumped to $212,100 annually.

House staff are now living the dream.
Pelosi has bumped the maximum from $199,300 to $203,700 to $212,100 in one year.
She also instituted a minimum salary of $45,000.
Americans are getting crushed right now, but she just keeps adding to our tab.
To justify the move, she stated, “As you know, our hard-working, patriotic congressional staffers are integral to the functioning of the House of Representatives.
“To that end, we must do all we can to retain and recruit the best talent in our nation — and to build a congressional workforce that reflects the communities we are honored to serve.”
Yes because Congress has done such an exceptional job over the last few years that they need to be rewarded.
Failing up seems to be a thing in this government.
