President Trump on Pelosi: “She’s a Sick Puppy”

In a lengthy “Fox & Friends” phone interview on Monday, President Donald Trump talked about his Administration’s response to the Chinese coronavirus crisis. He also blasted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s latest criticism, saying “there’s something wrong with the woman.

Explaining His Decisions

Earlier this month, the White House Coronavirus Task Force released “15 Days to Slow the Spread”, which detailed social distancing guidelines. Because this pandemic has placed severe economic strain on so many Americans, it was originally hoped that these measures would be very temporary and that normal activities could slowly resume. They were due to expire on Monday.

But on Sunday, he announced that he was extending social distancing restrictions through the end of April. On Monday, he explained that guidance he had received from public health officials made the extension necessary.

We’re doing a lot of things and we don’t want to (ease restrictions) too soon. Around Easter, that’s going to be the highest point, we think.”

“We think April 30 is a day where we can see some real progress. And we expect to see that, short of June 1, we think the death, it’s a terrible thing to say, will be brought to a very low number.”

“If we didn’t do anything, 2.2 million people could have died.

Criticism from the Speaker

The Fox interview came just one day after Speaker Pelosi had launched a new attack, telling CNN on Sunday, that the President’s “denial at the beginning was deadly, his delaying of equipment…to where it is needed is deadly, and now the best thing would be to do is prevent more loss of life, rather than open things up so that, because we just don’t know.”

She added, “As the president fiddles, people are dying. We just have to take every precaution.”

President Trump Fires Back

The President harshly fired back during the interview, slamming Pelosi for her seemingly never-ending criticism. “All she did for the first long time was impeach, impeach, impeach. That’s all she did. She’s controlled by the radical left, by AOC plus 3, for her to make a statement like that, I think it’s a disgrace, to her country and her family.”

“She focused on impeachment and she lost, and she looked like a fool,”

The Virus Spreads

As of Monday, the United States now has over 143,000 confirmed coronavirus casesmore than any other country — and at least 2500 have died.

President Trump addressed that topic on Monday, suggesting that because “We test more than anybody else”, that explains the higher number of positive cases. He added that our country has a lower mortality rate than other countries. On a positive note, the President said that improved tests with faster results could be available as soon as this week

The President cautioned that although our resources and the dedication of our public health officials give us reasons to be optimistic, that optimism must still be cautious.

“The worst thing we can do is declare victory … and then not have victory. We’re at war, this is war.”
