An angry North Texas man is in a boatload of trouble for lashing out at Democrats over their response to the coronavirus.
After calling them “terrorists” and encouraging people to kill Democrats, Gavin Perry has been arrested.
While we would never advocate anyone making violent threats against government officials, Perry’s frustration is very understandable.
A bill that should have been passed last week was held up over Pelosi’s grandstanding for several days.
Even after the Senate passed the bill, at least three members of the House were threatening to delay it (all eventually stood down).
Perry was reportedly going on rants on his Facebook page, equating Democrats, specifically House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), as terrorists.
He was also openly encouraging violence against them.
On Wednesday, the FBI finally caught up with Perry and took him into custody.
U.S. Attorney Erin Nealy Cox stated, “This defendant’s threats against the Speaker and law enforcement agents are wholly inexcusable, and we look forward to bringing him to justice.”
If he is found guilty, Perry is facing a five-year sentence in federal prison.
This case brings to light the sad reality that politicians can pretty much do and say whatever they want and they are never held accountable.
Look at all the lies they have been telling, lies that probably led to Perry’s extreme state of mind, yet they won’t be held accountable, at least not until election day.
As much as we would all love to see them brought to justice, sadly, the only way we can really do that is by voting them out.
