Second Amendment VICTORY, Dems Take Tough Loss

It is no surprise that Governor Tim Walz and his liberal legislators are trying to dial back Second Amendment rights in his state.

Well, the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals has just struck a major blow for the Second Amendment.

Carry restrictions that were put in place have been overturned by the court.

In this country, we have no problem sending 18-year-old kids off to war, armed to the teeth, yet Democrats say these same 18-year-olds should not be able to exercise their Second Amendment rights.

The new law in Minnesota would have blocked anyone under the age of 21 from being able to secure a carry permit.

The court, thankfully, shot that down.

Judge William Benton stated, “In other words, the Founders considered age and knew how to set age requirements but placed no such restrictions on rights, including those protected by the Second Amendment.”

The case had been brought by several adults under the age of 21 who were fighting for their right to carry.

Their win was backed and celebrated by Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus, the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF), and the Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC).

FPC commented after the case, stating, “This formalizes our victory, and the ban is now officially dead.

“If it wishes to continue defending its tyranny, Minnesota must take its tears to SCOTUS.”

If an 18-year-old is a law-abiding citizen and learns how to responsibly handle a firearm, there is no reason he or she should be prevented from carrying and protecting himself or herself, especially in a state like Minnesota.

This is a big win, but we also expect it to be challenged in higher courts, so let’s not celebrate too much just yet.
