Speaker Johnson (R-LA) is willing to give Joe Biden the aid that he wants for Israel.

However, that money comes with a caveat.

He can have it as long as he is willing to give up some of the money that was earmarked for the IRS in the Inflation Reduction Act.

Tit for Tat

The Israel Supplemental Appropriations Act, proposed by Rep. Kay Granger (R-TX), gives Biden $14.3 billion to hand over to Israel for aid.

But, Biden has to be willing to tap into that IRA fund that was passed.

The White House is livid, already threatening to veto the bill if it ever gets to Biden’s desk.

This would mean vetoing a bipartisan bill since the Democrats own the Senate.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated, “Threatening to undermine American national security unless House Republicans can help the wealthy and big corporations cheat on their taxes—which would increase the deficit—is the definition of backwards.

“Playing political games that threaten the source of funding for Israel’s self-defense—now and into the future—would set an unacceptable precedent that calls our commitment to one of our closest allies into question.

“We cannot afford to jeopardize that commitment as Israel defends itself from the evil unleashed by Hamas.”

So, if you don’t want to jeopardize Israel, sign the legislation and they can have their money.
