Speculation Swirls Around Dead DC Sniper

The only fatality appears to be the sniper himself. It seems that 23-year-old Raymond Spencer fired multiple rounds from a fifth-floor apartment balcony, wounding four random citizens in Washington, D.C., Friday afternoon.

Sniper pronounced dead

Police aren’t saying a whole lot but the press pieced together the big pieces of the puzzle. There are still gaps waiting to be filled in, like what the shooter’s connection was to the Edmund Burke School and why he opened fire. Police haven’t “officiallyacknowledged Spencer was the sniper because they haven’t notified his next of kin but they definitely aren’t looking for their named person of interest any longer.

Two adult females, an adult male and a 12-year-old girl were critically wounded but were stabilized. Another woman in her sixties “suffered a graze wound to the back.

Shots were reported at 3:20 p.m. on Friday, April 22, which threw the whole neighborhood into panic. According to D.C. police Chief Robert J. Contee III, the suspect had been firing randomly and squeezed off at least 20 rounds. It could have been a whole lot worse.

The sniper was armed to the teeth and had enough ammo to stand off Putin’s troops. He reportedly waited patiently for police to knock on his door, then he killed himself.

Chief Contee confirms that “the man was discovered inside a fifth-floor apartment.

Authorities, he notes “believe that the suspect took his own life as MPD members were entering or breaching the apartment where the suspect was located.” He adds that they aren’t looking for another suspect so it must have been the sniper.

Intent to kill

Despite his obvious intent to kill, the shooter didn’t manage to kill anyone but himself, making it a seriously high profile suicide. “This was a sniper type setup. Obviously, his intent was to kill and hurt members of our community.

He used a tripod but it didn’t improve his accuracy any. Police note “the suspect was shooting from north to south.

Everyone in the vicinity was ordered to shelter in place while commando clad law enforcement troops and ambulances swarmed through the neighborhood. The sniper wasn’t on police radar before the incident but he got their attention by uploading a video of the actual shooting to 4chan.

That was the reason they went looking for him. The only problem is that they were looking for him in Fairfax County. They thought he lived in Fair Lakes Circle but he also had an apartment.

Along with “bodycam” style video of the shooting which “is incredibly shaky and has a red crosshairs in the center,” the sniper messaged “Dear God please forgive me.”

A while later he taunted police, noting, “they’re in the wrong part of the building right now searching XD.” He soon added “Waiting for police to catch up with me.” They did.
