Could former Trump adviser Steve Bannon really be headed to jail?
If the DOJ has its way, that is exactly what will happen.
The Department of Justice has recommended a sentence of six months behind bars for the former Breitbart boss.
Lock Him Up
Bannon has already been convicted of contempt of Congress in July.
On Monday, the Justice Department presented its case regarding his sentencing.
It stated, “The Defendant’s bad-faith strategy of defiance and contempt deserves severe punishment.
“This Court should impose a sentence of six months’ imprisonment, reflecting the most severe Guidelines-compliant punishment available, and fine the Defendant $200,000.”
Bannon’s formal sentencing hearing will be held on Friday, which is when he will find out the court’s decision.
This is not the last of Bannon’s legal problems, however.
He has also been indicted in New York for the alleged crime Trump pardoned him for when he was president.
Bannon allegedly defrauded donors in the “We Build the Wall” campaign.
