Former Trump campaign adviser Roger Stone is back in the headlines.
Stone is requesting a new trial due to revelations about a juror during his trial and he is 100 percent right to do so.
Biased Juror
Now that Stone’s trial is over, it would appear that conservatives are better investigators than Stone’s defense team.
The lead juror in the case, Tomeka Hart, has a timeline that is filled with anti-Trump posts.
First and foremost, it should have been a warning that Hart ran for Congress in 2012 as a Democrat.
This was actually known by Stone’s legal team, yet they did not have her removed from the case.
Since Trump has been president, Hart has openly criticized him on Twitter.
For instance, in August 2017, she called Trump the #KlanPresident.
As recently as August of 2019, she accused all Trump supporters as being racist.
If you look down her timeline, it is filled with anti-Trump posts just like this as well as support for the Russian collusion witch hunt.
The most telling of all, however, is one of her tweets days after Roger Stone was arrested, criticizing conservatives who expressed their opinion that Stone had not been treated fairly.
Clearly, her mind was made up long before she ever got called for jury duty and she should have been ejected from the juror pool.
When transcripts of jury selection were revealed, Hart stated that she “did not pay that close attention” to the Russia probe, which is clearly a lie.
Must Get a New Trial
The question as to whether or not Stone should get a new trial is quite easy to answer… yes, he should.
Hart was clearly tainted in her views and the fact she was lead juror in this case means she more than likely poisoned the rest of the jurors throughout the process.
Legal experts have chimed in on this already, including Fox News’ Judge Napolitano, who is no fan of Stone or Trump.
Napolitano stated that the presiding judge should immediately call back all jurors for interrogation or even possibly make the decision on her own to grant a new trial.
We are about to find out how just our justice system is very soon.
The judge in this case, Judge Amy Berman Jackson, is an Obama appointee, so it will be very interesting to see if she rules with her heart or by the justice code.
While it should be the latter, it would not be surprising in the least if she not only moves forward with sentencing but also throws the book at Stone per the original sentencing recommendation by prosecuting attorneys (for the record, Napolitano also stated the original sentence recommendation was far too harsh).
Now with the cut and dried evidence agionst Stone, he should stick witrh what he got, nay jury that finds Stone not guilty will have the same results that the verdict for OB had, no one believin him innocent, very similar to the Impeacment of Trump, few think he is not guilty, an like with OJ the people will have their revenge in some form.
Now with email and voice recording of Stone threating to kill a witnesses dog if he testified in the Stone trial, and some think that was just fine for Stone to do because he was framed by the FBI, now Stone had choices like any of the persons questioned by law enforcement, tell the truth, lie or say nothing, those are rights given to anyone under the Constitution ofthis USA.
Stone like Trump would not know the truth if it was staring them in the eye, CON men are Con mena nd they live their whole life that way, truth is of no value if it means not winning
He should get a new Trial because of Judicial bias. The judge in his case was and is guilty of malfeasance. She showed her bias in the sentence and every part of the trial. She should be removed from the bench and barred from any and all things to do with law for life. Her words at sentencing showed her HATE toward Stone and Trump.
