A big ruling came down from the Supreme Court this week that could impact at least one of the cases still on the book for Donald Trump.

Trump’s former chief of staff, Mark Meadows, had a filing with the court to have his Fulton County case moved to federal court.

This week, the Supreme Court denied the motion, so the case will stay in Fulton County.

Sorry, Mark

Meadows has always contended that he did nothing more than carry out his duties as the chief of staff for the president.

As such, if he were to be charged, the alleged crimes should be considered to be federal.

Meadows believed that if he could get the cases into a federal court, he could lean into immunity and have the charges dismissed, but that is not going to happen.

So, he will wind up being tried in Fulton County, that is if Fani Willis continues to prosecute the cases.

Rumors are that Special Counsel Jack Smith is winding down the two federal cases against Trump.

Since there is no way Smith can get Trump into a courtroom before he takes office, the cases would have to be put on hold for four years because a sitting president cannot be tried in a federal court.

Many legal experts have already chimed in, stating that they believe the state courts should follow suit, and this would included Judge Merchan vacating the guilty verdict against Trump in the hush-money case.

Even if Merchant does not, I fully expect that case to be turned over on appeal.

None of this helps Meadows, however. And on a side note, if Meadows is found guilty and sent to jail, Trump will not be able to pardon him.

Meadows would be relying on Governor Kemp to pardon him, and I would suspect that would be the case.
