The mystery of missing Canadian national Chun Hui Zhang has been solved.
This does not have a very happy ending.
Rangers found Zhang’s body at Washington state’s Mount Rainier National Park.
It would appear that he fell off the side of the mountain while climbing.
Tough Way to Go
Earlier this week, reports surfaced from nearby witnesses that thought they saw someone take a substantial fall.
Rangers started searching the area, eventually recovering Zhang’s body.
After an extensive search, rangers found the body about 24 hours later.
The Park Service stated, “Using a [National Park Service-contracted] helicopter, rangers were able to access and extricate the climber’s body.”
Zhang was part of a private group trying to summit the mountain.
In addition to the Park Service, climbers from the International Mountain Guides and Rainier Mountaineering, Inc assisted in the body recovery.
