Interior Secretary Deb Haaland and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack were touting major contributions to conservative funds last week.

They did seem to forget to mention a few things about those funds, however.

We need to make sure the word gets out to expose their hypocrisy.

You Forgot to Mention…

The two departments were touting $2.8 billion in spending by the Legacy Restoration Fund (LRF) and Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF).

Haaland stated, “The Great American Outdoors Act allows us to increase outdoor recreation opportunities, improve infrastructure on our public lands, invest in the U.S. economy, and honor our commitment to Tribal communities.”

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack added, “Funding made possible through the Great American Outdoors Act’s Legacy Restoration Fund allows us to enhance equitable access for recreators, create job opportunities, advance community well-being and improve rural and urban economies.”

What did they forget to mention?

First, those funds were actually set up during the Trump administration.

Second, the money for those funds is mostly coming from the fossil fuel industry.

Here is the irony in all of this…

If Biden keeps crushing the fossil fuel industry, the contribution to these funds shrinks considerably.

The fossil fuel companies fund about 90 percent of that money, so this is Biden cutting off his nose to spite his face.
