When Trump selected Pam Bondi has his attorney general, I have to admit, I was pretty excited.

I am expecting big things from her.

Based on her day one agenda, I have not been disappointed.

Go Big or Go Home

Now, some of the directives that Bondi announced will be challenged, so I don’t want to get too excited, but I do like the direction she is going.

After being confirmed, Bondi stated, “[T]he Department of Justice will ensure that, consistent with law, ‘sanctuary jurisdictions’ do not receive access to Federal funds from the Department.

“Consistent with applicable statutes, regulations, court orders, and terms, the Department of Justice shall pause the distribution of all funds until a review has been completed, terminate any agreements that are in violation of law or are the source of waste, fraud, or abuse, and initiate clawback or recoupment procedures, where appropriate.”

Bondi has already announced that she will be trying to cut funding for sanctuary cities from the Department of Justice.

This is something that will be challenged in court, but my understanding is that she is already meeting with some blue-state cities to try to work this out.

Second, she wants to try to reverse some of Joe Biden’s commutations, specifically for death row inmates.

But again, this will be challenged as there is no precedent for reversing a presidential order of this nature.

On that front, she stated, “The commutations also robbed the victims’ families of the justice promised — and fought hard to achieve — by the Department of Justice.

“The Department of Justice is directed to immediately commence the following actions to achieve justice for the victims’ families of the 37 commuted murderers.”

I would really like to see her go after the unprecedented preemptive pardons that were issued by Biden, as I think she would have a much better chance of having those reversed.

How can you possibly give someone a blanket pardon for a crime that has not yet been charged?

Regardless, Bondi is going to keep Democrats and activists busy for the next four years.
