Amid the coronavirus emergency, our President and the Governor of Washington state are trading verbal blows.
After Trump called Governor Inslee a “snake,” Inslee had a few choice words for Trump himself.
There is no love lost between Trump and Inslee.
Even so, country before grudges, right? Well, maybe not.
As head of the task force, it is Pence’s job to coordinate all efforts with local leadership.
Prior to Pence reaching out to Inslee, however, Trump had some advice for his vice president.
Trump stated, “I told Mike [Pence] not to be complimentary of that governor because that governor is a snake.
“So, Mike may be happy with him but I’m not, OK?”
After that call took place, Inslee sent out a tweet taking a shot at Trump…
I just received a call from @VP Mike Pence, thanking Washington state for our efforts to combat the coronavirus.
I told him our work would be more successful if the Trump administration stuck to the science and told the truth.

He would later add, “We are very pleased with the federal government helping us right now.
“I don’t care what Donald Trump thinks of me and I just kind of ignore it.”
This, sadly, is the state of politics today.
Amid a possible pandemic outbreak, our politicians are still trading jabs.
Trump was recently asked about this during his recent Fox News town hall.
The President stated that he would like it to be more civil, but he will not sit there and take shots from Democrats without responding in kind.
So, even while his state is the current hotspot in the country for the coronavirus, Inslee would seemingly rather trade jabs than just stick to the issue at hand.
All the while Pence is trying to place peacekeeper, stating, “As the state of Washington, and the Seattle area in particular, deals with the coronavirus, we’re going to continue to make sure that you have the full support of every agency in the federal government.
“We know you’re the front line.”
