The race is over… that is what Democrats were hoping to hear after the debate last week.
Well, they better go find their safe spaces.
While it would be hard to argue that Trump won that debate, the fact of the matter is that it did not help Harris the way most people thought it would.
No Substance
Most voters are having an issue with the debate because there was little to no substance, and what substance there was came from Trump.
To that point, Reuters interviewed a focus group after the debate, and the overwhelming majority of the group sided with Trump.
While Kamala Harris did land some shots against Trump, it was done by attacking Trump on Trump, nothing meaningful, at least not in the eyes of voters.
One of the members of the focus group stated, “I felt like the whole debate was Kamala Harris telling me why not to vote for Donald Trump instead of why she’s the right candidate.”
That seems to be what we hear time and again when people are being asked about the debate and what they think of Harris.
She has only had her policies on her website for a week, and even that is filled with holes and lies.
For instance, she has a complete section dedicated to Project 2025, which Harris claims is Trump’s agenda, but it is something he has distanced himself from months ago.
Stressing that point, another focus group member stated, “I still don’t know what she is for. There was no real meat and bones for her plans.”
Harris is more or less trying to use the Hillary Clinton strategy from 2106, which was that she is not Donald Trump.
Blame everything on the bad orange man, stress the fact you are the only other option, and hope for the best.
I did not work then, but will it work in 2024 with all of Trump’s legal problems and baggage? That question will be answered in about two months.
