An indictment of Donald Trump means “all-out war,” the future president’s lawyer insists. The District Attorney in Manhattan is waiting for a grand jury to tell him what he wants to hear. He calls the legal settlement Trump’s former lawyer reached with Stormy Daniels in 2016 to dispose of her nuisance claim “hush money.” Even if the grand jury decides to indict, that doesn’t mean he’s guilty. There would be a big circus of a trial first. Every bit of it free publicity for Trump’s 2024 campaign.
Trump indictment means war
Trump attorney Joe Tacopina knows he can’t control the prosecutor or the grand jury. “They can do what they want.” If they levy charges, “at that point, this is an all-out war.”
If Democrats think it will intimidate the Donald, they’re dreaming. “He’ll be there loud and proud, and there’s nobody that’s gonna make him cower,” Tacopina insists.
As much as Christopher Wray would love to see Trump resist arrest, so they can shoot him, it’s not going to happen.
The “former president would not refuse to surrender if he is indicted. There won’t be a standoff at Mar-a-Lago with Secret Service and the Manhattan DA’s office.” What there will be are a whole lot of reporters and film crews standing by to make campaign ads from the footage.

Tacopina, the Hill reports, “has been making the rounds on TV defending the former president, as Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D) appears to be nearing the end of his investigation into a $130,000 payment made to adult-film star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election.”
Trump got wind of it and put out a statement on Truth Social. He’s been ready to be hauled away in cuffs since Saturday.
Protest peacefully
The only thing Trump can do is call on his deplorable supporters to peacefully protest the indictment if it manages to actually materialize. The prosecutor is all ready to send out the swat team but there aren’t any actual charges yet. That has Bragg chewing his fingernails down to the knuckle.
In his statement, Trump noted it was “illegal leaks” which tipped him off to potential arrest. Nobody has been civil enough to give him or his legal team a heads up that this was even in the pipeline.
Assuming that the grand jury does decide to bring charges, the prosecutor will give Trump’s lawyers a chance to arrange his surrender.

Trump will need to be present in New York for processing and arraignment but isn’t expected to be held in custody. They’ll turn him loose so he can travel around the campaign trail.
Jonathan Turley has been all over multiple forms of media to describe what’s going on as a version of AGT, he calls it America’s Got Trump.
Turley notes that Bragg, as a prosecutor, isn’t just “out of his lane,” he’s “on a whole different freeway.” If Donald Trump gets indicted and arrested, you can pretty much expect him to be our next president.
