Donald Trump must be getting worried that Attorney General Merrick Garland is about to drop the hammer on him.
Reports broke this week that Donald Trump has added a big gun to his legal team.
Fox News has reported that Florida Solicitor General Chris Kise is now representing Trump.
Big Guns
The hiring of Kise signals to me that Trump now believes it is all but certain that he will face an indictment.
Kise is about as big a gun as it gets.
He worked for the powerful law firm of Foley & Lardner.
He also served as the solicitor general for Florida, arguing cases before the Supreme Court.
Kise’s first job is to get the court to agree to appoint a Special Master to review the documents taken from Trump’s home during the FBI raid.
Trump has already landed a friendly judge on the case, which could become a major issue for the DOJ.
It has already announced that some privileged documents were found and will be returned.
If the Special Master is appointed and finds more documents, well, Merrick Garland has one hell of a fight on his hands.
