Democrats and liberals around the country have just been dealt a major blow that is going to cripple them in their fight against Trump’s immigration plan.
The Second Circuit Court of Appeals has overturned an earlier decision to limit the administration’s ability to restrict funding to cities based on sanctuary city status.
Big Win for Trump
Early on in Trump’s administration, the President made it clear he did not want to offer any type of federal funding to cities or states that were harboring illegal immigrants.
Jeff Sessions, our Attorney General at the time, stated, “So-called ‘sanctuary’ policies make all of us less safe because they intentionally undermine our laws and protect illegal aliens who have committed crimes.
“These policies also encourage illegal immigration and even human trafficking by perpetuating the lie that in certain cities, illegal aliens can live outside the law.
“From now on, the Department will only provide Byrne JAG grants to cities and states that comply with federal law, allow federal immigration access to detention facilities, and provide 48 hours notice before they release an illegal alien wanted by federal authorities.
“This is consistent with long-established cooperative principles among law enforcement agencies.”
When the policy was initiated, it was immediately taken to court.
That lawsuit on behalf of the sanctuary states stated, “DOJ has thus forced the States into an untenable position: accept unlawful and unconstitutional conditions that diminish our sovereign ability to set our own law enforcement priorities and protect our communities, or forfeit Byrne JAG funding, thus undermining the vital programs that such funding supports.”
Initially, a lower court ruling put a stay on the policy, but the Second Circuit Appeals Court panel has overturned the decision.
Judge Reena Raggi, who was appointed by President George W. Bush, stated, “Repeatedly and throughout its pronouncement of Byrne Program statutory requirements, Congress makes clear that a grant applicant demonstrates qualification by satisfying statutory requirements in such form and according to such rules as the Attorney General establishes.
“This confers considerable authority on the Attorney General.”
This lawsuit is typical of what the administration has been dealing with from day one and goes to counter the dissent that was recently written about our judiciary by Justice Sotomayor.
She accused the administration of declaring unnecessary emergencies, but it is her fellow liberals that are putting virtually every administration policy into the court system.
Had this gone before a liberally-ideological panel, the original ruling would have been held up, I have no doubt about that.
The decision here, however, is the right one simply based on the fact that by definition, these cities and states are protecting criminals.
We can argue all day on how dangerous these criminals are, but the fact is the moment they crossed the border, they broke the law. They are no different than someone that stole a loaf of bread from a grocery store in that aspect. If we don’t protect those people, why are we protecting illegals that shirked the system?
The good news is that even if this goes on to a higher court, the fact the Supreme Court approved of the “public charge” aspect of the administration’s immigration policy, we are pretty confident this will also get through the Supreme Court.

It’s about time. SO thankful for President Trump to stand up to these liberal idiots in sanctuary cities. Let’s see how fast they collapse and give up the nonsense of being a sanctuary anything.
Let us never lose sight that illegal aliens have absolutely no legal standards under our Constitutional Laws to break any laws within the United States or its territories. The moment they cross our borders illegally, they must be turned right around immediately without detaining them and sent back to the country from which they may have broken that country’s own foreign laws. Americans are not the world’s sugar-daddy, and if illegal aliens are not happy with their own country, then, let them fight to change it!

Most of the state’s that hide the illegals are the same states crying about trump and spent 100 millon dollars trying to impeach him on lies . And now need money to take care of the illegals living in their states with this virus hitting like it is . I say let them run the states spend their own money on the illegals . After all they left them in our country . Now our people suffer cause of the money being spent on illegals and against trump .
