If you live in Philadelphia or Chicago, you have probably never been happier to have the summer over.
Both cities were awash in gun violence this weekend.
At first report, 15 deaths had been reported between the two cities over the weekend.
However, another victim has died from wounds, so the count has now risen to 16.
Bloody Weekend… Again
The thugs in Chicago do not have quite as good aim as the thugs in Philadelphia.
Chicago had 44 shootings, seven of them fatal, by Sunday night.
One of the victims was a 15-year-old boy who was ambushed while standing on the sidewalk around West Garfield Park.
It has all the makings of a drug shooting.
At last report, the boy was hospitalized in critical condition.
A 13-year-old boy was also shot in Chicago.
Thus far, police have made zero arrests in any of the shootings.
In Philadelphia, the holiday weekend saw 29 shootings, nine of which were fatal.
At least two teenagers were among the victims.
It is so bad, Mayor Kenney has openly stated he cannot wait for his term to be over.
He recently stated, “I don’t enjoy the Fourth of July, I don’t enjoy the Democratic National Convention, I didn’t enjoy the NFL draft — I’m waiting for something bad to happen all the time.
“So I’ll be happy when I’m not here — when I’m not mayor and I can enjoy some stuff.”
Like many Democrat-run cities, Philadelphia had a mass exodus of officers, currently operating around 20 percent under its target employment goals.
