Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram laid siege to a rural farming community in northeast Nigeria. The Muslim militants murdered dozens of innocent people and kidnapped at least 15 women who are still missing. The government has been at war with the terror group for years.
Terrorist attack leaves dozens dead
Boko Haram is an African Islamic terrorist group that has pledged allegiance to ISIS. They are responsible for decades of bloodshed all over Africa as the group tries to establish their own Islamic State.
The recent mass murder in Borno Nigeria is thought to be an act of retaliation. The militants have accused rural communities of spying and feeding the Nigerian government information about the group’s movements.
The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, released a statement condemning the attack. “I condemn the killing of our hardworking farmers by terrorists in Borno State. The entire country is hurt by these senseless killings. My thoughts are with their families in this time of grief. May their souls rest in peace.”
The bodies were brought to a nearby village for funeral services. The governor of the state of Borno attended the services and expressed his grief over the tragedy. “I condemn the killing of our hardworking farmers by terrorists in Borno State. The entire country is hurt by these senseless killings. My thoughts are with their families in this time of grief. May their souls Rest In Peace.”
The religion of peace strikes again
Africa has become a hotbed of terror but the mainstream media doesn’t give it much coverage. Last month, Boko Haram terrorists slaughtered 22 farmers working in their irrigation fields near Maiduguri in two separate incidents.
In March, 70 Nigerian soldiers were killed in Borno when they were ambushed by Boko Haram militants armed with rocket-propelled grenades and other heavy weaponry. In 2019, a suicide bomber targeted the popular Medina Hotel in Kismayo, Somalia.
26 people were killed in the attack, including several foreigners. In April of this year, jihadists shot and beheaded 50 young boys for allegedly refusing to join their terror organization. The battle between good and evil continues.
