With all of the problems that were reported in the 2020 election, we would think election officials would have had their act together for the 2024 election.
That, however, is far from the case.
We are reading about ballot issues all over the country, but especially in battleground states.
We Have a Problem
One of the latest to pop up is ballots in Nevada that are not recording their votes properly.
Nevada election officials discovered the problem on October 21, with only weeks before the election to figure out the issues and how to solve them.
In this case, they found that some of the bar codes on the ballots were not printed properly.
Nevada County Clerk Recorder Natalie Adona explained, “Some of our ballots, if you look really closely and use a magnifying glass, you will see that there is imperfections in the bar codes.
“We will use a report and say, ‘OK, which pages did not go through?’
“We’ll pull those out and we’ll mark them as to be rescanned, and we will rescan them with a piece of paper where the bar code is very clear.”
Runbeck Election Services, who supplied the ballots, added, “We are coordinating directly with the Nevada County elections office and the secretary of state to ensure that all affected ballots can be properly reviewed and counted.
“While this issue is rare it can happen due to the required use of inject technology for the printing of such a large quantity of ballots.”
I just find it rather odd that when problems do arise, they always seem to take place in battleground states.
When was the last time you heard of ballot issues like this in California or New York?
If they want the American people to regain confidence in our elections, get it right. As I have stated before, with all the technology we have available, even a small amount of ballot fraud is unacceptable.
