Last night, the Nevada debate took place and it has never been more clear that Joe Biden’s campaign is just about over.
The public seems to think the same, because the Biden campaign has completely collapsed in national polls as of late, with Bernie Sanders now the overall leader in virtually every poll available.
Additionally, the moderators in the debate were clearly favoring Bernie Sanders, a sign they no longer consider Joe Biden to be the leader of this primary.
See You Later, Joe
When Joe Biden first announced his candidacy, he had right around 40 percent in most polls.
Most believed it would take a small miracle to overcome his double-digit lead.
Ever since Biden announced, though, it has been one gaffe after another, slowly decreasing his lead.
Last month, Biden was polling around 26 percent nationally.
This was less than what he started but he still had a considerable lead.
Since then, the first caucus and the first primary have taken place, with Biden barely making it out of Iowa and New Hampshire with any delegates to show for his efforts.
That has clearly shaken his base and they are now looking elsewhere with their support.
The latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll has Bernie Sanders atop the poll with 27 percent of the support.
Biden has slipped to a distant second at 15 percent, with Bloomberg and Warren fast on his heels at 14 percent.
Even Pete Buttigieg has picked up considerably, coming up six points to 13 percent.
The only top candidate that appears to be out of the race at this point is Amy Klobuchar.
Can Joe Biden Still Win?
Over the next two weeks, we have another caucus and another primary.
Joe Biden is going to have to have a very strong showing or his campaign could be all but over heading into Super Tuesday.
If Biden can stay competitive, however, there is still an outside shot he could steal this nomination.
During the debate last night, the candidates were asked if at the end of the primary, if nobody has the majority of delegates needed to lock down the nomination, should they allow the convention process to play out or respect the vote of the American people and hand the nomination to the primary leader, and all but one voted to allow the system to play out.
The dissenter was Bernie Sanders, and for good reason.
Once it gets to a second vote at the convention, the super delegates come back into play and Joe Biden knows he will probably get the majority of those delegates.
So, while the fat lady is warming up, the establishment is preventing her from grabbing that microphone to start her song because believe it or not, yes, Joe Biden still has a path, albeit a corrupt one, to the nomination for the Democrat party.
And if that is how this all plays out, you better believe Bernie’s supporters will resort to violence, begin rioting, and start to tear this country apart, all of which will play right into Trump’s hands.
